Parents are always welcome and strongly encouraged to attend the first meeting.
Younger siblings are fine, too, as long as they do not disturb the meeting.
Some of our goals may interest you:
· Make an informed choice about engineering as a career.
Did you know that most engineers take 2 full years of calculus but only normally
use simple algebra on the job? It would be a shame for your child
to miss out on such an exciting, high-paying and in-demand career simply because
they did not know what engineers actually do on the job, on a day-to-day basis.
On the other hand, you need to make sure 4 years of time and money is not wasted
on a career they would not enjoy.
· Introduce them to various engineering disciplines and computer science.
Engineers and computer sciences both have high starting salaries, but their school
work and jobs are very different. With this program, they will be able to determine
which path is suited for them. In fact, most students interested in engineering
determine the specific discipline of engineering they want to pursue.
· Associate with successful engineers.
In this program the students will meet top engineers from leading companies.
They will get great advice and encouragement that motivates them to perform in
school so they can achieve their goal in engineering or computer science.
